Sustainability
We believe in sustainable living and respecting our natural environment. For this reason, we revived an ancient stone country-house at Casarciccia overlooking a wide panorama of woods and fields.
The landscape has hardly changed since medieval times. We renovated the house using natural materials: travertine stone, handmade terracotta tiles, and chestnut beams. The house is decorated with vintage furniture we collected in local markets, that create a calm and minimalist harmony.
The gardens surrounding Casarciccia boast flowers and plants typical of the region of Umbria, in central Italy and the Mediterranean. Laurel, juniper, lavender, rosemary and sage spread their incanting perfume in the garden. Our rare rose garden blooms in the spring, and our organic orchard offers shade and fruit.
We farm responsibly, without using artificial fertilisers or pesticides. We are proud of our local eco-system, where wild plants, animals, butterflies, birds and bees thrive and flourish together.
Organic Olive Oil: Oro di Casarciccia
We produce pure organic extra virgin olive oil from our own olive trees. In our organic olive grove, we grow Leccino, Moraiolo and Frantoio varieties. Our oil stands out for its exceptionally low acidity and gentle aromas.
Biodynamic Red wine: Rosso di Casarciccia
Our natural red wine is a blend of three grape varieties: Sangiovese, Merlot and Sagrantino. The entire winemaking process is done on the estate: we harvest our biodynamic vineyard by hand and produce the wine using traditional natural methods, without adding any chemicals. The wine is aged for a few months in French oak barrels.
